It was great to see many returning and new faces for the last SGME Series at ‘Not so’ Dry Gill.
On the Hard route, regular rider John Bellwood was being pushed hard by Aran Drachenberg for first place. Aran taking top spot on the day taking full advantage of the fuel injection Vertigo in the slippy conditions with 7 marks dropped over the TRS of John coming in on 19 marks.
Clubman A Over 50 is where the action has been all year, and with Neil Gaunt unable to ride on the day due to injury, certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons.
Phil Hammond took top spot on the day in class and on course, with an impressive 3 marks dropped. Section 7 being his nemesis section where all 3 were taken. Rob Hardisty coached the Beta in 2nd for 17 marks dropped and Mr Trials UK Nige Pearson coming home in 3rd with 26 dropped.
In general the top 5 spots were O50 riders showing age is only a number.
Clubman A Novice: Bradley Green taking 1st place on the day with 38 marks dropped, a good lead from 2nd place Daniel Readman with 67.
Freddie Swaine sadly missed out on second spot by 2 cleans, also finishing on 67.
Clubman A Juniors: William Blackwell ‘B class’ attacked the A route with great skill, finishing with a respectable 38 marks dropped, with Alfie Drachenberg ‘C class’ on 55 marks. Great ride for the conditions from both juniors.
The clubman B route overall winner in the day was young B class rider Isaac Reeday, with a mere 7 marks dropped was a fantastic result.
Second place being taken by O50 rider Adam bell on 11 marks and Novice rider Adrian Hanson taking 3rd place with 16 marks
As with Clubman B, it’s certainly a mix of riders up top.
C class rider William Hemingway took his Evo 80 to first place with only 3 marks dropped, closely followed by Over 60 rider Russ Brodie with 5 marks dropped just beating James Hemingway by most cleans. Russ has certainly improved recently since moving to the TRS and it’s great to see him up top.
Special shout out is needed for B class rider Henry Hanson, who on his first ever trial although was forced to retire, had a great first lap.
To finish, HDMC aim to put on trials and make sections fit for all, and the Dry Gill results show testimante to this. We have had a good range of riders, B class, C Class, D Class, Novice, twin shock, over 50 and over 60’s all riding together, and for the overall course results to have a mix of classes shows the sections were indeed set out perfectly for all.
So please do talk, tell your mates, Horsforth trials do cover 4yr olds +, they are also skill set for absolute beginners through to Centre riders all in one trial!
