Most of our Events feature a specific ‘JUNIORS CONDUCTED’ four route course suitable for young beginners (which might also be referred to as the ‘small wheels’ course in the Events tab)

These routes are intended for the C,D & E classes, (so from 4 years upwards) and for suitable petrol and electric machines with small and medium wheels.

White Route: Aimed at absolute beginners or those wanting to build on their general riding confidence more.

Yellow Route: Step up from White route, and is aimed at a rider with basic – intermediate trials skills.

Red Route: Red route is a transition route aimed at getting your young one ready for Adult easy routes.

50/50: New for 2025, Rider will ride Yellow route unless denoted at section start to ride Red. In this case, the Red route will not be of Red severity, but more a slightly more testing Yellow route. This is aimed at those starting to need a bit more of a challenge but not fully red to take on the red route full time.

All riders on any of these courses must adhere to the relevant ACU rules regarding ACU Registration, protective clothing, age and bike type. For details, visit Sport 80 resources noted above.

Key Points:

  • Please note all youth riders on petrol and ALL ELECTRIC bikes must have cut-out lanyards fitted and used.

The ones for electric bikes are different from the ones used on petrol bikes. Contact TrialsUK for info.

  • Youth MUST have clothing covering arms and wear gloves covering hands and fingers.
  • Ensure bar ends are covered by the grips or specific bar end covers. Please do not allow your little ones to ride with exposed bar ends, they become sharp and easily cause great injury in small accidents.

Traditionally parents / guardians help out with the young riders, showing the correct lines, observing etc.

If you are also new to the sport, there is plenty of experience around, so don’t be afraid to ask.

Setting sections and coordinating the trial on the day is normally done by a small group of parents.

At the time of writing, this is the Bancroft’s / Mitchells / Dykes. Yet if you wish to get involved or learn and mark sections out / observe feel free to approach one of them, or Chris Bancroft’s number is 07970100965
