Practice at Swaine Woods is allowed since 2/12/20 for members in west Yorkshire as long as the appropriate Tier 3 restrictions are observed
We are fortunate to have the use of Swaine Woods for practising.
You need to be a member of the Horsforth Club to ride here, membership runs for the calendar year and needs renewing every year.
Click on the Club Membership tab.
This land is just as sensitive as any of our other trials venues so please respect the land, other users of the woods and footpaths and the rules.
IF YOU ARE USING SWAINE WOODS TO PRACTISE PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TAKING ANY DRINKS CANS/BOTTLES INTO THE WOODS. WE ARE UNDER PRESSURE FROM CONSERVATION GROUPS AND THE RUBBISH PROBLEM IS NOT HELPING OUR CAUSE. TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME.
Also remember the rules
No Riding and No Engines to be started outside the woods – push your bike on the verge/footpath and don’t park on the footpath or obstruct it.
Do NOT try to turn right on the uphill carriageway – you will cause a massive accident! Go up to the roundabout and come back down the hill. Always enter and exit on the downhill carriageway.
And finally we only allow properly silenced trials bikes – no pit bikes, enduros etc.
Don’t forget Parkwood Off Road, Home Farm, Tong also have practice days, about once a month. Click on the ‘Links’ Tab then the Parkwood link.
Also try Back Cowm Quarry near Oldham – in the Links tab.
